Grinderswitch était un groupe de rock sudiste américain formé en 1973 près de Macon, en Géorgie. Le groupe a été formé par Joe Dan Petty, Larry Howard, Dru Lombar et Rick Burnett. Ils ont enregistré plusieurs albums pour Capricorn Records dans les années 1970, mais n'ont jamais atteint la même reconnaissance que d'autres artistes du label tels que The Allman Brothers Band et The Marshall Tucker Band. Le groupe est peut-être mieux connu au Royaume-Uni pour leur morceau "Pickin' the Blues", utilisé pendant de nombreuses années comme thème musical pour les émissions de radio de John Peel à la BBC.

Grinderswitch was an American southern rock band formed in 1973 near Macon, Georgia. The band was formed by Joe Dan Petty, Larry Howard, Dru Lombar, and Rick Burnett. They recorded several albums for Capricorn Records in the 1970s but never achieved the same recognition as other label artists such as The Allman Brothers Band and The Marshall Tucker Band. The band is perhaps best known in the UK for their track "Pickin' the Blues," which was used for many years as the theme music for John Peel's BBC radio shows.
