Formé à Auckland en 1970, Ticket était un groupe néo-zélandais de rock psychédélique et blues-rock, influencé par Jimi Hendrix, Traffic et Crazy Horse. Le groupe se distingue par ses longues improvisations scéniques et son énergie brute.Leur premier album, Awake, est enregistré en 1972 au HMV Studios de Wellington et publié sur le label Down Under. Il sera également le premier disque néo-zélandais distribué par Atlantic Records en Australie. Le groupe connaît un succès local avec le single "Country High", qui atteint la 12e place des charts néo-zélandais en décembre 1971. Cependant, malgré une tournée en Australie et un second album, Let Sleeping Dogs Lie, Ticket se sépare fin 1973.

Formed in Auckland in 1970, Ticket was a New Zealand psychedelic and blues-rock band influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Traffic, and Crazy Horse. The band was known for their extended live improvisations and raw energy. Their debut album, Awake, was recorded in 1972 at HMV Studios in Wellington and released on the Down Under label. It became the first New Zealand record distributed by Atlantic Records in Australia. The band achieved local success with the single "Country High", which peaked at number 12 on the New Zealand charts in December 1971. Despite a tour in Australia and a second album, Let Sleeping Dogs Lie, Ticket disbanded in late 1973.
