Formé en 1969 à Jacksonville, Floride, Cowboy est un groupe américain de country rock et southern rock, fondé par les auteurs-compositeurs-interprètes Scott Boyer et Tommy Talton. Le groupe a été signé par le label Capricorn Records, grâce à la recommandation de Duane Allman, membre des Allman Brothers Band. Cowboy a sorti quatre albums dans les années 1970, dont 5'll Getcha Ten en 1971, qui est considéré comme leur œuvre la plus aboutie. Cet album comprend la chanson "Please Be with Me", avec la participation de Duane Allman à la guitare slide. Cette chanson a ensuite été reprise par Eric Clapton sur son album 461 Ocean Boulevard en 1974. Le son de Cowboy est souvent comparé à celui de groupes comme Hearts & Flowers, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band et Pure Prairie League. Formed in 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida, Cowboy was an American country rock and southern rock band founded by singer-songwriters Scott Boyer and Tommy Talton. The band was signed to Capricorn Records, thanks to a recommendation from Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers Band. Cowboy released four albums in the 1970s, including 5'll Getcha Ten in 1971, which is considered their most accomplished work. This album features the song "Please Be with Me," with Duane Allman on slide guitar. The song was later covered by Eric Clapton on his 1974 album 461 Ocean Boulevard. Cowboy's sound is often compared to that of bands like Hearts & Flowers, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Pure Prairie League. The band reunited in 2007 and recorded the album 10'll Getcha Twenty, released in 2018. Scott Boyer passed away in 2018, and Tommy Talton in 2023.
