Formé à Londres en 1966, Andromeda est un groupe britannique de rock psychédélique et progressif. Le groupe a été fondé par John Du Cann, ancien membre du groupe The Attack. La formation initiale comprenait également Mick Hawksworth (basse, chant) et Jack McCulloch (batterie), remplacé plus tard par Ian McLane. En 1969, le groupe enregistre son unique album éponyme, Andromeda, un mélange audacieux de rock psychédélique, de blues et de progressif. Bien que l'album ait été salué par la critique, il n'a pas rencontré un grand succès commercial, et le groupe se sépare en 1970 lorsque Du Cann rejoint Atomic Rooster. Leurs enregistrements ont été redécouverts dans les années 1990, avec des rééditions comprenant des enregistrements en direct et des sessions radio.

Formed in London in 1966, Andromeda was a British psychedelic and progressive rock band. The band was founded by John Du Cann, former member of The Attack. The initial lineup also included Mick Hawksworth (bass, vocals) and Jack McCulloch (drums), later replaced by Ian McLane. In 1969, the band recorded their sole self-titled album, Andromeda, an audacious blend of psychedelic rock, blues, and progressive elements. Although the album was critically acclaimed, it did not achieve significant commercial success, and the band disbanded in 1970 when Du Cann joined Atomic Rooster. Their recordings were rediscovered in the 1990s, with reissues including live recordings and radio sessions.
