Bloodrock est un groupe de hard rock texan formé en 1969 à Fort Worth. Initialement connus sous le nom de The Naturals, puis Crowd +1, ils ont été renommés Bloodrock sur les conseils de Terry Knight, le producteur de Grand Funk Railroad. Leur premier album éponyme, Bloodrock, est sorti le 16 mars 1970 sous le label Capitol Records. Produit par Terry Knight, l'album a été enregistré en 1969 et reflète une fusion de hard rock et de rock psychédélique, avec des influences de Deep Purple. La pochette, également conçue par Knight, présente un design audacieux avec du sang éclaboussant sur un fond blanc, symbolisant l'énergie brute du groupe.

Le groupe a été formé par Jim Rutledge (chant et batterie), Lee Pickens (guitare), Nick Taylor (guitare rythmique), Ed Grundy (basse) et Stevie Hill (claviers). Bloodrock is a hard rock band from Fort Worth, Texas, formed in 1969. Originally known as The Naturals and later as Crowd +1, they were renamed Bloodrock at the suggestion of Terry Knight, producer of Grand Funk Railroad. Their debut album, Bloodrock, was released on March 16, 1970, by Capitol Records. Produced by Terry Knight, the album was recorded in 1969 and showcases a blend of hard rock and psychedelic rock, with influences from Deep Purple. The album cover, also designed by Knight, features a bold design with blood splatters on a white background, symbolizing the band's raw energy.

The band was formed by Jim Rutledge (vocals and drums), Lee Pickens (guitar), Nick Taylor (rhythm guitar), Ed Grundy (bass), and Stevie Hill (keyboards). Prior to forming Bloodrock, Pickens and Rutledge had musical experience in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The band quickly gained a reputation for their energetic performances and opened for artists such as Jimi Hendrix, playing before a crowd of 350,000 at the Atlanta Pop Festival.
