The Marshall Tucker Band est un groupe de rock sudiste originaire de Spartanburg, en Caroline du Sud. Formé en 1972, le groupe a été nommé d'après un accordeur de piano aveugle local, Marshall Tucker, dont le nom était inscrit sur la clé du local de répétition du groupe. Leur premier album éponyme, The Marshall Tucker Band, est sorti en 1973 sous le label Capricorn Records. L'album a été produit par Paul Hornsby et a été certifié disque d'or en 1975. Il est reconnu pour sa fusion unique de rock sudiste, de country et de jazz, avec des influences blues marquées. Le groupe a connu un grand succès au cours des années 1970, avec plusieurs albums certifiés or et des tournées aux États-Unis et à l'étranger. Bien que le groupe ait perdu certains membres au fil des ans, Doug Gray reste le seul membre original toujours actif avec le groupe.

The Marshall Tucker Band is a Southern rock band from Spartanburg, South Carolina. Formed in 1972, the band was named after a local blind piano tuner, Marshall Tucker, whose name was found on the key to their rehearsal space. Their debut album, The Marshall Tucker Band, was released in 1973 on Capricorn Records. Produced by Paul Hornsby, the album was certified gold in 1975. It is noted for its unique blend of Southern rock, country, and jazz, with strong blues influences. The band achieved significant success in the 1970s, with several gold-certified albums and extensive touring in the U.S. and abroad. Although the band has lost some members over the years, Doug Gray remains the only original member still active with the band.
