Formé en 1972 par le claviériste Tommy Eyre, Riff Raff est un groupe britannique de jazz-rock fusion qui a émergé de la scène progressive du début des années 70. Le groupe a sorti deux albums : Riff Raff (1973) et Original Man (1974). Ce dernier, enregistré entre avril et mai 1974 aux Escape Studios (Kent) et Olympic Studios (Londres), est considéré comme leur œuvre la plus aboutie. Il se distingue par une fusion audacieuse de jazz, rock et funk, enrichie par des arrangements de cuivres sophistiqués et des structures complexes. Bien que le groupe soit resté relativement confidentiel, Original Manest aujourd'hui reconnu comme un joyau caché du jazz-rock britannique.

Formed in 1972 by keyboardist Tommy Eyre, Riff Raff was a British jazz-rock fusion band that emerged from the early '70s progressive scene. The band released two albums: Riff Raff (1973) and Original Man (1974). The latter, recorded between April and May 1974 at Escape Studios (Kent) and Olympic Studios (London), is considered their most accomplished work. It features a bold fusion of jazz, rock, and funk, enriched by sophisticated horn arrangements and complex structures. Although the band remained relatively obscure, Original Man is now recognized as a hidden gem of British jazz-rock.
