Not only is Medusa the finest offering from '70s outfit Trapeze, it is one of the decade's most underappreciated hard rock recordings. With a lineup that consisted of future Deep Purple, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath members, there seems to be proof that at least a few fellow musicians appreciated this 1971 offering. Fans of his later work might be surprised by Glenn Hughes' soulful vocal delivery, especially on the midtempo blues-rockers like 'Black Cloud' and 'Your Love Is Alright'.

Eloy - Floating (1974)

With Floating, Eloy hit their first artistic peak. The German group's brand of hard rock meets prog rock gelled beautifully for this set of five songs. The structural shortcomings of the longest track from the previous album are now things of the past: 'The Light From Deep Darkness' is a 15-minute roller coaster. The opening title track gets very close to early Santana, thanks to a spirited drum track and Manfred Wieczorke's organ work, closer this time to Gregg Rollie than Jon Lord (Deep Purple). But the album's highlight resides in the infectiously heavy riff of 'Castle in the Air', maybe the most recognizable sound bit in Eloy's first three albums.

Avec Floating, Eloy a atteint son premier pic artistique. Le groupe allemand très marqué par  évolue ver un prog rock magnifiquement gélifié pour cet ensemble de cinq chansons. Les faiblesses structurelles de la plus longue piste de l'album précédent sont maintenant choses du passé : 'The Light From Deep Darkness' est un roller coaster de 15 minutes. Le titre d'ouverture se rapproche beaucoup  du Santana des débuts, grâce à une partie de batterie fougueuse et au travail de l'orgue de Manfred Wieczorke, plus près cette fois de Gregg Rollie que de Jon Lord (Deep Purple). Mais le point culminant de l'album réside dans le riff lourd quasi vénéneux de 'Castle in the Air' , peut-être le son le plus reconnaissable des trois premiers albums de Eloy.

Red Queen To Gryphon Three is the third album of the English group Gryphon progressive rock, made in 1974. The album is a concept album about a game of chess. The symphonic structure of the movements intricately combine rich textured strings with medieval horns, reminiscent of 16th century England. The keyboards bridge together certain passages with just the right intensity so that they keep from modernizing the album's feel. While some progressive rock can seem over the top or contrived, Gryphon mixes subtlety with diversity to formulate beautiful streamlined music.

Red Queen To Gryphon Three est le troisième album du groupe anglais de rock progressif Gryphon, réalisé en 1974. L'album est un concept-album autour d'une partie d'échecs. La structure symphonique des mouvements combine intimement de riches cordes texturées avec des cornes médiévales, qui rappellent l'Angleterre du 16ème siècle. Les  claviers emplissent certains passages avec juste la bonne intensité de sorte qu'ils préservent la modernité de l'album. Alors que certain rock progressif peut sembler excessif ou artificiel, Gryphon mélange adroitement subtilité avec diversité pour formuler une belle musique équilibrée.

Atom Heart Mother is the fifth album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd released in 1970. Its name, which is also the first song of the disc, comes from a newspaper article about a woman equipped with a pacemaker atomic heart. Collective work (Pink Floyd signs the entire room), Atom Heart Mother can be seen as emblematic of progressive rock for its duration (about 25 minutes, an entire face of LP), its composition in parts, its arrangement (including loans to the so-called 'classical' music) and no text. Its major feature is its manifest rich sound throughout the work: this finding is mainly based on careful and unusual orchestration (although controversial) but also by the diverse use of electronic keyboards, as well as sound collages.
