Chicken Shack were, like Fleetwood Mac, Savoy Brown, Climax Blues Band and others, one of the early British blues bands. Formed in 1965, they had a long residency at Hamburg's famed Star Club. The original members included guitarist/vocalist Stan "The Man" Webb, and vocalist Christine Perfect The band's debut album, ''Forty Blue Fingers", also available on Talking Elephant, was releasedl in 1968, and for the next couple of years, they were, together with Fleetwood Mac, at the forefront of the British blues boom. They released a further three albums, ''O.K.Ken", ''100 Ton Chicken" and ''Accept" for Blue Horizon before moving over to Deram in 1972. Stan "The Man" Webb remains one of the UK's best and respected, but sadly underrated, guitarists.

Formés en 1965, ils eurent une longue résidence au fameux Star Club de Hambourg. Les membres originaux comprenaient le guitariste / chanteur Stan "The Man" Webb, et la chanteuse Christine Perfect. Le premier album du groupe, "Forty Blue Fingers", également disponible sur Talking Elephant, a été publié en 1968, et pour les deux prochaines années, ils ont été, avec Fleetwood Mac, à la pointe du boom du blues britannique et ont sorti trois autres albums, '' OK Ken '', '' 100 Ton Chicken '' et '' Accept '' pour Blue Horizon avant de passer à Deram en 1972. Lucifer's Friend - I'm Just a Rock & Roll Singer (1973)

On the first Lucifer's Friend album, the band had fun writing bluesy, hard rock songs. On their second album, they apparently fell in love with the popular experimental rock bands during the early 70's such as Pink Floyd, King Crimson and Procol Harum, and created an album that stands among the weirdest (and most adventurous) I've ever heard. On the bands third album, this is once *again* a step in a very different direction like you'll can appreciate.

Sur le premier album de Lucifer's Friend, le groupe s'est amusé à écrire des chansons bluesy et hard rock. Sur leur deuxième album, ils sont apparemment tombés amoureux des groupes de rock expérimentaux populaires au début des années 70 tels que Pink Floyd, King Crimson et Procol Harum, et ont créé un album qui figure parmi les plus étranges (et les plus aventureux) que j'ai jamais entendu . Sur le troisième album du groupe, c'est une fois de plus un pas dans une direction très différente que je vous laisse découvrir.
