London-based Mud emerged in the early 1970s as one of the leading acts of the UK glam rock scene, alongside Sweet and Slade. With their flashy image, catchy hooks, and rock’n’roll revival style, Mud became hitmakers under the guidance of producer-songwriters Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman.

Their self-titled album Mud (1975) captures the band’s signature blend of retro rock’n’roll, glam swagger, and pop sensibility. Often underestimated as a singles band, Mud proved here they could craft a full-length album brimming with groove, humor, and anthemic choruses. A glittery time capsule of mid-’70s British pop rock.
