Fondé à Los Angeles au tournant des années 80, Ratt est l’un des fers de lance du glam metal américain. Avec leur look flamboyant, leur sens du riff accrocheur et des refrains taillés pour les stades, ils incarnent la quintessence du Sunset Strip sound. Après un premier EP remarqué, ils sortent en 1984 Out of the Cellar, leur premier album complet, sous la houlette du producteur Beau Hill.
L’album est un raz-de-marée : porté par le single "Round and Round", qui explose sur MTV, le disque propulse Ratt dans la cour des grands aux côtés de Mötley Crüe, Dokken ou Quiet Riot. Formed in Los Angeles at the dawn of the '80s, Ratt quickly rose to prominence as one of the leading acts of the glam metal scene. With flashy looks, radio-ready hooks, and blazing guitar solos, they helped define the Sunset Strip sound. Their full-length debut, Out of the Cellar, released in 1984 and produced by Beau Hill, became an instant success.
Powered by the MTV smash hit "Round and Round", the album launched Ratt into rock stardom. With Warren DeMartini’s searing guitar work and Stephen Pearcy’s distinctive vocals, the record delivered hard-hitting glam with a commercial edge. Sleazy, loud, and infectious, Out of the Cellar remains a cornerstone of '80s hair metal.
