Latin words whose literal translation is seize the day. The most commonly accepted meaning is picked this day without worrying about tomorrow. Recognized as the motto of hedonism, it must only hold my interest. What is important in life, that's life ! And I like Latin. It allowed me to deepen a way of thinking and a certain worldview. I also owe my taste for beautiful letters and naughty puns. I therefore like more than one. This choice finally underlines the objective of this blog: share my fruits daily.

Le sens le plus communément admis est cueille le jour présent sans te soucier du lendemain.
Reconnue comme devise de l'hédonisme, elle ne pouvait que retenir mon intérêt.
Ce qui est important dans la vie, c'est la vie ... é pi cu rien !
Et puis j'aime le latin. Il m'a permis d'approfondir un mode de pensée et une certaine vision du monde.
Je lui dois aussi mon goût pour les belles lettres et les vilains jeux de mots.
Je l'aime donc à plus d'un titre.

Ce choix souligne enfin l'objectif de ce blog : partager ma récolte au jour le jour.

Radio Geyster 1977 as a concept album. It offers a magical adventure. You are in Los Angeles, August 17, 1977. It is a wonderful time, a moist heat, almost suffocating but you are at home, in a beautiful villa on the edge of the pool, a glass of Tequila Sunrise by hand. And listening to the radio, Radio Geyster 103.9, FM which broadcasts to the west-coast music, mix of pop rock and black music. The program is dedicated to the new album Geyster group and from time to time the DJ takes a serious and reassuring voice or launching a jingle that exudes joy. The reconstruction of the music of the time is perfectly successful with this Fender Rhodes predominates and strict production that reminds perfectionism Steely Dan. This disc sounds terribly west-coast as the previous project Gael Benjamin, the leader of Geyster, also a member of NightShift group. Listening to these songs with melodies and deliciously pop interpretation provides a sense of well-being comforting. If we had put happiness in music, this looks likely to 'A Change for the Better' which opens the disc. The positive energy that this song exudes impressive. This is the most outstanding song on the album that contains other highly successful songs as 'We Own the Night', 'Shuda' or 'Sugar Baby'.

Radio Geyster 1977 est comme un concept album. Il vous propose de vivre une aventure magique. Vous êtes à Los Angeles, le 17 août 1977. Il fait un temps magnifique, une chaleur moite, presque étouffante mais vous êtes chez vous, dans une magnifique villa, au bord de la piscine, un verre de Tequila Sunrise à la main. Et vous écoutez la radio, Radio Geyster 103.9, une FM qui diffuse de la musique west-coast, savant mélange de pop/rock et de musique noire. Le programme est dédié au nouvel album du groupe Geyster et de temps à autres le DJ intervient d’une voix grave et rassurante ou lance un jingle qui respire la joie de vivre.

Brian Wilson - No Pier Pressure (2015)

The years pass without a trace on the creative faculties of Brian Wilson. The magician of the Beach Boys made a new master stroke with No Pier Pressure. Originally, the songs on this disc should be included on an album of the Beach Boys but after yet another quarrel between Mike Love and Brian Wilson, they were added to the solo discography Wilson and be the eleventh album of the singer. For the occasion, Brian Wilson was surrounded by his old mate Al Jardine and a number of young performers unknown contemporaries (Peter Hollens, Kacey Musgraves, Mark Isham, She & Him, Nate Ruess, Blondie Chaplin, Sebu Simonian), which advantageously replace what is left of the beach boys. No Pier Pressure is a wonderful world to explore as is every Brian's album. A peaceful world with often jazzy sounds like the instrumental 'Half Moon Bay', ideal for a rest and decompression. If you venture onto Pier Pressure No, do not miss 'Whatever Happened' 'Our Special Love' or 'Tell Me Why' with their enchanting vocal harmonies. You can also enjoy more removed moments like 'The Right Time' and 'Guess You Had to Be There'.

A l'origine, les morceaux de ce disque devaient figurer sur un album des Beach Boys mais après une énième brouille entre Mike Love et Brian Wilson, ils sont venus enrichir la discographie solo de Wilson et constituer le onzième album du chanteur. Pour l'occasion, Brian Wilson s'est entouré de son vieux compère Al Jardine ainsi que d'un certain nombre de jeunes interprètes contemporains méconnus (Peter Hollens, Kacey Musgraves, Mark Isham, She & Him, Nate Ruess, Blondie Chaplin, Sebu Simonian) qui remplacent avantageusement ce qu'il reste des garçons de la plage.
No Pier Pressure est un monde merveilleux à explorer comme le sont tous les albums de Brian Wilson. Un monde paisible aux sonorités souvent jazzy comme l'instrumental 'Half Moon Bay', idéal pour un moment de repos et de décompression.
Si vous vous aventurez sur No Pier Pressure, ne ratez surtout pas 'Whatever Happened', 'Our Spécial Love' ou 'Tell Me Why' avec leurs harmonies vocales enchanteresses. Vous pourrez aussi apprécier des moments plus enlevés comme 'The Right Time' et 'Guess You Had to Be There'.

America - America (1970)

America was formed in London in 1969 at the initiative of three son of U.S. pilots. Air Force based in England, Dewey Bunnell, Gerry Beckley and Dan Peek. The group chose the path of a certain nostalgia for the motherland, by name and by practicing a folk tinged country rock. Amateurs of its clear, America is produced by the illustrious George Martin. A disc of pop/folk in the line of Crosby, Stills, Nash yet recorded in London. Three composers, three guitarists, three voices, beautiful vocal harmonies. The album contains two big hits that offered the group an immediate success. The most famous is of course 'A Horse with No Nam', a classic of the west-coast music but this album also contains the delicious ballad 'I Need You' that attracts attention with his piano accompaniment. Other major songs from this disc 'Sandman', 'Three Roses', 'Clarice', 'Donkey Jaw' which has a special atmosphere and benefits from some parts of electric guitar, and especially the magical 'Riverside' which opens the album. It is clear from this record feeling of well-being, comfort and harmony with nature that can not be found in the albums of that time when we knew embellish the present and imagine a happy future.

America se forme à Londres en 1969, à l'initiative de trois fils de pilotes de l'U.S. Air Force basés en Angleterre, Dewey Bunnell, Gerry Beckley et Dan Peek. Le groupe choisit la voie d'une certaine nostalgie de la mère patrie, de par son nom et en pratiquant un folk rock teinté de country.
Amateurs d'un son limpide, America se fait produire par l'illustre George Martin.

Un disque de pop/folk dans la lignée des enregistrements de Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young et pourtant enregistré à Londres. Trois compositeurs, trois guitaristes, trois voix, de magnifiques harmonies vocales. L'album contient deux grands hits qui offrirent au groupe un succès immédiat. Le plus célèbre est bien évidemment 'A Horse with no Name', un grand classique de la musique west-coast, mais cet album contient aussi la délicieuse ballade 'I Need You' qui attire l’attention avec son accompagnement au piano. Parmi les autres chansons majeures de ce disque 'Sandman', 'Three Roses', 'Clarice', 'Donkey Jaw' qui possède une atmosphère particulière et bénéficie de quelques parties de guitare électrique, et surtout le magique 'Riverside' qui ouvre l‘album. 

Il ressort de ce disque un sentiment de bien être, de réconfort et d’harmonie avec la nature que l’on ne retrouve que dans les albums de cette époque où l’on savait enjoliver le présent et imaginer un avenir heureux.

Buffalo Springfield - Buffalo Springfield

First album of folk rock group Buffalo Springfield released in January 1967. Stephen Stills is the origin of the formation of the group. Then living in Los Angeles, he asks Richie Furay joining, then Neil Young folk singer who is pursuing a career in Canada. According to legend, Stills and Furay were stuck in traffic in Los Angeles when they see a hearse registered in Ontario: Neil Young had used to cross the border on fraud. Young brings with him the Bruce Palmer bassist and drummer Dewey Martin. It was this chance meeting that would have caused the union of these five talented musicians. Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Richie Furay, Bruce Palmer as prominent members, Buffalo Springfield was a great group and it is not its least known element, Dewey Martin who changes anything, nor affect this finding behind which the whole rock is unanimous. Unfortunately, the life of this essential training in clearing the folk-rock is inversely proportional to his talent. Buffalo Springfield was a two-year deal (1966-1968) when the Byrds, the other precursor of a genre that has taken root in the 60's, has aligned the years and LP.

Stephen Stills est à l’origine de la formation du groupe. Vivant alors à Los Angeles, il demande à  Richie Furay de le rejoindre, puis à Neil Young qui poursuit une carrière de chanteur folk au Canada. La légende veut que Stills et Furay aient été bloqués dans un embouteillage à Los Angeles lorsqu’ils aperçoivent un corbillard immatriculé dans l’Ontario : Neil Young s’en était servi pour passer la frontière en fraude. Young amène avec lui le bassiste Bruce Palmer et le batteur Dewey Martin. C'est cette rencontre fortuite qui aurait provoqué la réunion de ces cinq musiciens talentueux.

Avec Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Richie Furay, Bruce Palmer comme membres éminents, Buffalo Springfield était un super groupe et ce n’est pas son élément le moins connu, Dewey Martin qui y change quoi que ce soit, ni ne remet en cause ce constat derrière lequel le rock tout entier est unanime. Malheureusement, la durée de vie de cette formation essentielle dans le défrichage du folk-rock est inversement proportionnelle à son talent. Buffalo Springfield a été une affaire de deux ans (1966/68) quand les Byrds , l’autre précurseur d’un genre qui a pris racine dans les 60’s, a aligné les années et les LP.
