Spooky Tooth - Witness (1973)

Native from Carlisle in northern England, Spooky Tooth is a progressive rock band formed in 1968 by former members of V.I.P.'s, joined by Gary Wright. After several changes, the band disappeared in the mid-1970s and was briefly re-formed in late 1990 by four comic members of the initial training. The mixture extraordinary vocal performances by Mike Harrison, the very soul patch, a heavy rhythm and organs of the American Gary Wright plies made from Spooky Tooth one of the jewels of psychedelic hard. Unfortunately neither impressive adaptations of 'Tobacco Road' or 'I Am The Walrus' by the Beatles or his strange collaboration with concrete music composer Pierre Henry, the time of an experimental album (Ceremony), not opened her doors to success.

Originaire de Carlisle, au nord de l'Angleterre, Spooky Tooth est un groupe de rock progressif formé en 1968 par d'anciens membres des V.I.P.’s, rejoints par l'américain Gary Wright. Après plusieurs changements, le groupe a disparu au milieu des années 1970 puis a été brièvement reformé à la fin dessinées 1990 par quatre des membres de la formation initiale. Le mélange des extraordinaires performances vocales de Mike Harrison , au timbre très soul, d'une rythmique heavy et des nappes d'orgues de l'Américain Gary Wright firent de Spooky Tooth l'un des fleurons du hard psychédélique. Hélas, ni ses impressionnantes adaptations de 'Tobacco Road' ou de 'I Am The Walrus' des Beatles, ni son étrange collaboration avec le compositeur de musique concrète Pierre Henry, le temps d'un album expérimental (Ceremony), ne lui ouvrirent les portes du succès.

Boomerang - Boomerang (1971)

Boomerang's history began with the collapse of Vanilla Fudge, having recorded five albums, because half of its staff, is Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice, left to form a new band Cactus. Guitarist Vinnie Martell, meanwhile, had received an offer to play with Jimi Hendrix, which just does not happen because Hendrix died before ... And keyboardist and singer Vanilla Fudge, Mark Stein, form a combo with Jo Casmir to play hard heavy, a style that was his true passion, as the Boomerang. In 1971, this new group released the Boomerang album contains seven songs written by Mark Stein. The band's style surprises right away, with Stein and Casmir sharing all voice. As singer and real centerpiece of the group, Stein, on songs like the bluesy ballad 'Fisherman' and the famous 'Juke II', reveals how the singer of Deep Purple, David Coverdale, borrows its bluesy style. It is true that in Purple Mark III, the Coverdale / Hughes duo mimics, uncannily, the Boomerang duo Stein / Casmir. Guitarist Richard Ramirez is itself quite amazing, when he was only 16 when this album was recorded.

L'histoire de Boomerang commence avec l'effondrement de Vanilla Fudge, après avoir enregistré cinq albums, parce que la moitié de son personnel, soit Tim Bogert et Carmine Appice, sont partis former un nouveau groupe, Cactus.  Le guitariste Vinnie Martell, de son côté, avait reçu une offre pour jouer avec Jimi Hendrix, ce qui n'a tout simplement pas pu se produire parce qu'Hendrix était mort avant...
Et le claviériste et chanteur de Vanilla Fudge, Mark Stein, forme un combo avec Jo Casmir pour jouer du hard heavy, un style qui était sa vrai passion, sous le nom de Boomerang. En 1971, cette nouvelle formation sort l'album Boomerang qui contient sept chansons écrites par Mark Stein. Le style du groupe surprend tout de suite, avec Stein et Casmir se partageant tous les vocaux. Comme véritable chanteur et pièce maîtresse du groupe, Stein, sur des morceaux comme la ballade bluesy 'Fisherman' et le fameux 'Juke II', révèle à quel point le chanteur de Deep Purple, David Coverdale, emprunte son style bluesy.  Il est vrai que dans Purple Mark III, le duo Coverdale/Hughes imite, à s'y méprendre, celui du duo de Boomerang, Stein/Casmir.  Le guitariste Richard Ramirez est quant à lui tout à fait étonnant, alors qu'il n'a que 16 ans quand cet album a été enregistré.

Crosby, Stills & Nash - Crosby, Stills & Nash (1969)

The first album of Crosby, Stills & Nash's critically acclaimed and remains a classic of contemporary acoustic music. All songs are outstanding, but we will retain three in particular: 'Wooden Ships' reminiscent of Crosby passion for boats and navigation; 'Marrakesh Express', the single composed by Graham Nash and Stephen Stills song dedicated to her friend Judy Collins 'Suite: Judy Blue Eyes'. More than any other disc, the first album of 1969 CSN announced the breakthrough songwriters singers of the early seventies years. CSN's originality lies in the fact that the three house stars were placed on an equal footing. And their CVs were impressive: Crosby had played with the Byrds, Stills in Buffalo Springfield and Nash with the Hollies. On this record, each brings its specific key to create the famous specific CSN harmonies. Subsequently, the arrival of Neil Young further strengthened this great band. But this trio recording gives an impression of purity, that will never really reproduced thereafter.

Le premier album de Crosby, Stills & Nash est acclamé par la critique et reste un classique de la musique acoustique contemporaine. Tous les titres sont remarquables, mais on en retiendra trois en particulier : 'Wooden Ships' qui rappelle la passion de Crosby pour les bateaux et la navigation ; 'Marrakesh Express', le single composé par Graham Nash, et le morceau que Stephen Stills a dédié à son amie Judy Collins, 'Suite : Judy blue eyes'. Plus que tout autre disque, le premier album de CSN de 1969 annonce la percée des chanteurs songwriters du début des années soixante-dix. L'originalité de CSN réside dans le fait que les trois stars maison étaient mises sur un pied d'égalité. Et leurs CV étaient impressionnants : Crosby avait joué avec les Byrds, Stills dans le Buffalo Springfield et Nash avec les Hollies. Sur ce disque, chacun apporte sa touche spécifique pour créer les fameuses harmonies propres à CSN. Par la suite, l'arrivée de Neil Young renforça encore ce super groupe. Mais cet enregistrement en trio donne une impression de pureté, qui ne sera jamais vraiment reproduite par la suite.

The Rolling Sones - Necrophilia (1972)

The Rolling Stones album ever released Necrophilia 1972 .... Some slides have been sold for much money, there are a few years and then transferred to bootleg CD after some time. The songs are completely different (like 'Have You Ever Seen Your Baby'), or offer very different mixes official versions ( 'Metamorphosis'). The cover was designed by Fabio Nicoli using a cliché of the official photographer of the Stones sixties Gered Mankowitz. Only a very limited number were produced and rumor has it that this is the result of a major disagreement that Oldham and Allen Klein had on the selection of tracks.

L'album des Rolling Stones Necrophilia de 1972 jamais sorti ... . Certains acétates ont été vendus, pour beaucoup d'argent, il y a quelques années puis transférés sur CD bootleg après un certain temps. Les chansons sont soit complètement différentes (comme 'Have You Ever Seen Your Baby'), ou proposent des mixes très différents des versions officielles ('Metamorphosis'). La pochette a été conçue par Fabio Nicoli en utilisant un cliché du photographe officiel des Stones des années soixante, Gered Mankowitz. Joshua - Opens Your Mind (1969)

Joshua is a heavy band psyche rock of the late 60s This 1969 album was recorded at Studio Rockadelic Records and features nine tracks including the excellent 'You Still Hide'. Musically in the vein of Josefus or Stone Garden. Several tracks were recorded live to maintain their Powerful effect. These guys were friends of Blue Cheer and it becomes clear listening to this album. 

Joshua est un groupe de heavy psyché rock de la fin des années 60. Cet album de 1969 a été enregistré au Rockadelic Records Studio et comporte neuf titres dont l'excellent 'You Still Hide'. Musicalement dans la veine de Josefus ou de Stone Garden. Plusieurs morceaux ont été enregistrés en live pour conserver leur effet powerful. Ces gars-là étaient des amis de Blue Cheer et cela apparait clairement à l'écoute de cet album .

Third Power - Third Power (1970)

Third Power was formed in 1967 in Farmington Hills near Detroit, Michigan, Drew Abbot (guitar, vocals), Jim Craig (drums, vocals) and Jem Targa (bass guitar, vocals) after playing several years in various groups . Believe has been completely recorded in the studio; a complex production and overloaded overdubs impossible to reproduce live, at least with the technology available, the album failed to conquer the FM market (absent from the top 40) and above all, is not well sold outside Detroit. Their music is influenced by Black Sabbath and Cream.
