Ambrosia is an American rock band formed in southern California in 1970.The title of One Eighty was the bands fourth album and is now regarded as the high point of their AOR period. The approach is studious yet exploratory, leaving enough space for the songs to breathe and be supported by carefully executed multi-layered backing vocals.the album One Eighty was believed by fans to signal the group's "180-degree" change in direction.

Formé au début des années 1970 à Los Angeles, Jiva est un groupe californien atypique, fusionnant pop rock mélodique, soul spirituelle et soft jazz dans un esprit résolument west coast. Soutenus par George Harrison, qui signe leur unique album sur son label Dark Horse Records, les membres de Jiva (notamment le chanteur et guitariste Rick Stanley) s'inscrivent dans un courant musical aux accents lumineux et paisibles. L'album éponyme, publié en 1975, se distingue par des harmonies vocales soignées, une instrumentation soyeuse et des textes empreints de spiritualité hindoue, sans jamais sacrifier l’accessibilité pop. Formed in early 1970s Los Angeles, Jiva blended melodic pop rock, spiritual soul, and soft jazz into a distinctive West Coast sound. Backed by George Harrison—who signed them to his Dark Horse Records label—the group, led by vocalist/guitarist Rick Stanley, released one self-titled album in 1975. The record stands out for its serene vocal harmonies, smooth instrumentation, and lyrics infused with Hindu philosophy, all wrapped in a laid-back pop sensibility. Though overlooked at the time, Jiva has since gained cult status among aficionados of obscure 70s soft rock and spiritual pop.

🎸 Orleans - Forever (1979)

This is a very pleasant and valuable work by the post-John Hall Orleans who signed to Ron Alexenburg's ill-fated Infinity records label. Their hit "Love Takes Time" leads off this Hoppen brothers-dominated version of Orleans and it is a treat, a move away from the folk sounds that the band originally found fame with and a jump head first into the music that the Atlanta Rhythm Section, David Pack, and Ambrosia, and other '70s  rock artists were enjoying success with. 

C'est un travail très agréable et précieux par le post-John Hall d'Orléans qui a signé le label Infinity Records de Ron Alexenburg. Leur tube "Love Takes Time" sort de cette version d'Orléans dominée par les frères Hoppen et c'est un régal, un changement par rapport aux sons folks que le groupe a initialement connus et un saut tête première dans la musique pour laquelle l'Atlanta Rhythm Section, David Pack et Ambrosia, et d'autres artistes rock des années 70 ont eu du succès.

When the music industry and listeners became enamored with sensitive singer-songwriters in the early 1970s, few would become more successful than Texans Jimmy Seals and Dash Crofts, better known as the soft-rock duo, Seals & Crofts.Diamond Girl is their fifth studio album.It contains a number of different musical styles and themes which are all so pleasant the ones than the others.

The Flying Burrito Brothers are a seminal American country rock band, best known for their influential 1969 debut album, The Gilded Palace of Sin. Although the group is perhaps best known for its connection to band founders Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman (formerly of the Byrds), the group underwent many personnel changes and has existed in various incarnations. A lineup with no original members (and derived from the 2000s-era Burrito Deluxe) currently performs as The Burrito Brothers.

Finch - Nothing To Hide (1978)

A terrific copy of this long 2nd and final album from very under-rated Sydney hard rock band Finch. Their debut album Thunderbird is now considered a semi-progressive rock rarity. Finch trace their roots back to the mid-'70s Sydney-based band Stillwater which featured the talents of guitarist Graham Kennedy, drummer Peter McFarlane, singer Owen Orford, guitarist Gary Quince and Bob Spencer, and bassist Tony Strain.

Une version fantastique de ce long deuxième et dernier album du très sous-évalué groupe de hard rock de Sydney, Finch. Leur premier album Thunderbird est maintenant considéré comme une rareté rock semi-progressive. Ils ont été signés par Tony Stratton-Smith du label Charisma mais, bien que n'étant pas un groupe purement progressiste, ils en présentaient beaucoup des caractéristiques.

Audience was a London-based group that recorded their first album in 69 and had their eponymous debut pulled from the stores a few months after its release, which makes the album a major collectible (Cd versions were also hard to come by until a recent reissue). They got signed by Tony Stratton-Smith of the Charisma label  but although not a purely progressive group , they bore a lot of characteristics.

Baby was an American southern rock band from Texas. The band created its own company Baby Enterprises, Inc., based in Amarillo, Texas, to take care of the range of interests a musical group has. One of its branches was Lone Starr Records to which Baby signed itself in the mid-1970s. Baby had a legion of fans in the Midwest and South in 1975-76 and headlined venues like the famed Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa.

White Chocolate a dominé le circuit de la côte est et a rapidement attiré l'attention de RCA Records, qui a rapidement signé le groupe et publié son premier album en 1973. Les membres du groupe se sont regroupés en 1975 sous le nom de Dirty Angels pour la sortie de deux albums avant d'imploser à la fin de la décennie. Les membres ont par la suite poursuivi des activités comme Joe Perry Project, Farrenheit et Slo Leak.

White Chocolate dominated the east coast circuit and soon came to the attention of RCA Records, who promptly signed the band and issued their self-titled debut in 1973. The prinicipals of the band quickly regrouped in 1975 under the newly dubbed Dirty Angels and eventually went on to issue two cult classic before imploding at the close of the decade. Members later went on to acts like Joe Perry Project, Farrenheit and Slo Leak.

Driver - No Accident (1977)

Driver rolled out the No Accident album in 1977, and were never heard from again. Signed to A&M Records, the Canadian power trio will forever be remembered for the rough 'n' tough “Boxful of Love”. In addition, the boys deserve props for “Rock It to the Stars”.

Après une série d'efforts en solo, Felix Cavaliere enregistre sous le nom de Treasure et sort un album éponyme intitulé AOR en 1977 qui met en vedette la future membre de Kiss, Vinnie Vincent, à la guitare. Son album comporte également une apparition rare par le bassiste Mahavishnu Orchestra Rick Laird.

Following a pair of solo efforts, Felix Cavaliere recorded under the band name Treasure and released a self-titled AOR-styled album in 1977 which featured future Kiss member Vinnie Vincent on guitar. His album features also a rare appearance by Mahavishnu Orchestra bassist Rick Laird.

Gilbert O'Sullivan - A Stranger In My Own Back Yard (1974)

Gilbert O'Sullivan's fourth album, Stranger in My Own Backyard, was recorded in California (at the urging of American-based producer and manager Gordon Mills) in 1974, but only saw release several years later on U.K. shores. The patchiest of O'Sullivan's early albums, Stranger occasionally finds its footing and delivers a witty and well-crafted song or two. 

Le quatrième album de Gilbert O'Sullivan, Stranger in My Own Backyard, a été enregistré en Californie (à la demande du producteur et manager américain Gordon Mills) en 1974, mais n'a été édité que quelques années plus tard sur les côtes britanniquess. Le plus fragile des premiers albums d'O'Sullivan, Stranger trouve occasionnellement son rythme et livre quelques  chansons bien tournées et pleines d'esprit.
