With Mother Road, name borrowed from the old route 66, we discover a formation formed in 2012 but with two old veteran at the controls, the ex MSG, Keith Slack, with the song and the ex Soul Doctor, Chris Lyne, at the guitar. Accompanied by confirmed musicians they rock us with "Drive" their very first album which plunges us completely into the sound of Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, the Black Crowes and . Mother Road does not invent anything but master the codes and the genre. Between blues, hard rock and classic rock, "Drive" takes us on an intense and brilliant musical journey.

Avec Mother Road, nom emprunté à l'ancienne route 66, nous découvrons une formation formée en 2012 mais avec deux vieux briscard aux commandes, l'ex MSG, Keith Slack, au chant et l'ex Soul Doctor, Chris Lyne, à la guitare. Free - Tons of Sobs (1969)

Damn kids who come out of nowhere. Originally, Free is nothing but that: snarls of strength, talented and arrogant in the London of the late 60's. The sound is harsh, the production is dry and aggressive. ' ravaged voice - already staggering with feeling - floats above heavy compositions, most of them powerful and stubborn mid-tempos. Without demerit, Free does not look completely into the future. But the talent and creativity of these early kids could only encourage them to go down in history with their own style, not by copying others. What they did next, with big shots of masterpieces.

Des fichus gamins qui surgissent de nulle part. A l’origine, Free n’est rien d’autre que ça : des petits morveux sûrs de leur force, pétris de talent et pleins d’arrogance qui déboulent dans le Londres de la fin des années 60. Le son est rude, la production est sèche et agressive. La voix écorchée de Paul Rodgers – déjà sidérant de feeling – surnage au-dessus de compositions lourdes, pour la plupart des mid-tempos puissants et obstinés . Sans démériter, Free ne regarde alors pas encore tout à fait vers l’avenir. Mais le talent et la créativité de ces gamins précoces ne pouvaient que les inciter à entrer dans l’histoire avec leur propre style, pas en copiant les autres. Ce qu’ils ont fait ensuite, à grands coups de chefs d’œuvre.

Orange Wedge - Wedge (1972)

Hard Rock band Orange Wedge's first album, was originally released in 1972 in Baltimore, Maryland. Orange Wedge's debut album was a great display of raw blues driven hard rock. Not really interested in widespread recognition, the band became very popular on college campuses and youth clubs.

Joe Bonamassa - Blues of Desperation (2016)

More of a blues-rock album than a blues album, Joe Bonamassa continues to explore ways to depart from the standard blues format. His best songs are those which go back and forth between lyrical passages and guitar pyrotechnics, although the production often fails to keep both parts at the same volume level, making it hard to hear some of the lyrics without upping the volume during those passages. And when that's the worst thing one can say about a whole album of songs, you shouldn't worry much about its overall value. 

Plus d'un album de blues-rock qu'un album de blues, Joe Bonamassa continue d'explorer des façons de s'écarter du format blues standard. Ses meilleures chansons sont celles qui vont et viennent entre les passages lyriques et les guitares pyrotechniques, bien que la production échoue souvent à garder les deux parties au même niveau de volume, ce qui rend difficile d'entendre certaines paroles sans augmenter le volume pendant ces passages. Et quand c'est la pire chose qu'on puisse dire de tout un album de chansons, vous ne devriez pas vous soucier de sa valeur globale.

Mahogany - Mahogany (1969)

This is one of the better UK blues-based rock LPs of the late 60s Originally released in 1969 and produced by Alan Clark, famous for producing The Moody Blues' concept albums and King Crimson. For some unknwn reason its proposed release on CBS was cancelled. Though they were contemporaries of Fleetwood Mac, Chicken Shack, Savoy Brown and others UK blues bands widely released in the United Kningdom, this youthful British blues-rock quartet’s album only saw release in America and Holland unfairly dooming it to obscurity.

Il s'agit de l'un des meilleurs albums rock blues britanniques de la fin des années 60, sorti en 1969 et produit par Alan Clark, célèbre pour avoir produit les albums concept de The Moody Blues et King Crimson. Pour une raison inconnue, sa version proposée sur CBS a été annulée. DeWolff - Strange Fruits and Undiscovered Plants (2015)

DeWolff is a young southern psychedelic rock band from the south of the Netherlands, formed in 2007 by brothers Pablo and Luka van de Poel and Robin Piso. Released in 2009, this is their second album. It's so reminiscent of music from the late '60s to the early' 70s, Haight-Ashbury. With elegance, without ever resorting to strong effects, the brothers van de Poel and Robin Piso release their generous sap that spreads along a soft base Hammond antediluvian organ that would not have denied Jon Lord. The guitar duels / keyboards in which our young fellows are launched confirm the influence of the English dinosaur.

DeWolff est un jeune groupe de rock sudiste psychédélique du sud des Pays-Bas, formé en 2007 par les frères Pablo et Luka van de Poel et Robin Piso. Sorti en 2009, c'est leur deuxième album. Cela rappelle tellement la musique de la fin des années 60 au début des années 70, Haight-Ashbury. The Third Eye - Searching (1969)

Time and fortune have not been kind to Third Eye.  Back in the late 1960s they were one of the top acts in South Africa, recording three powerful albums that easily matched the creative output of their now better-known contemporaries. The music is heavy, the lyrics full of political statements, more psychedelic and a bigger step down into the musical underground. The 14-minute track 'Awakening' is really amazing, with tons of great organ parts and extra heavy fuzz-guitar.

Le temps et la fortune n'ont pas souri à The Third Eye. A la fin des années 1960, ils étaient l'un des meilleurs meilleurs groupes en Afrique du Sud, enregistrant trois albums puissants qui sont facilement au niveau de la production créative de leurs contemporains maintenant plus connus. La musique est forte, les paroles pleines de déclarations politiques, plus psychédéliques et plus en accord avec l'underground musical. Le morceau de 14 minutes 'Awakening' est vraiment incroyable, avec des tonnes de superbes parties d'orgue et une guitare fuzz extra lourde.

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Green River (1969)

Their third album comes out a little over a year after their first try, and the Creedence are already establishing themselves as a very fashionable group with a great musical maturity. Always carried at arm's length by the charismatic John Fogerty, CCR changes course with Green River which is distinguished from the first two albums of the group by a greater concision. The rhythm section is entirely devoted to its leader, John Fogerty, whose qualities of singer, guitarist, and singer remain the main assets of this album in the tone fundamentally rock.

Leur troisième album sort un peu plus d'un an après leur premier coup d'essai, et les Creedence s'imposent déjà comme un groupe très en vogue et fort d'une grande maturité musicale. Toujours porté à bout de bras par le charismatique John Fogerty, CCR change quelque peu de cap avec Green River qui se distingue des deux premiers albums du groupe par une plus grande concision. La section rythmique est entièrement dévouée à son leader dont les qualités de chanteur, de guitariste, et de chanteur demeurent les principaux atouts de cet album à la tonalité fondamentalement rock.

The Elastic Band - Expansions On Life (1969)

The Elastic Band were a Welsh band, formed in North Wales in the 1960s. They were one of the exponents of the UK psychedelic rock scene from the late 1960s and featured Andy Scott who would go on to become guitarist with Sweet. Other members were August Eadon (Gus) who went by the name Ted Yeadon when he was a member of Elastic Band, Sean Jenkins (drums) and Mike Scott (bass - Andy's brother). The band broke up in 1970 when Yeadon accepted an offer to join Love Affair.

The Elastic Band était un groupe gallois, formé au nord du Pays de Galles dans les années 1960. Ils étaient l'un des représentants de la scène rock psychédélique britannique de la fin des années 1960 et mettaient en vedette Andy Scott qui allait devenir guitariste avec Sweet. Simeon Soul Charger is an American Psychedelic Rock band. Their music has been described as a cinematic pastiche of folk, blues, progressive, 70's psychedelic and stoner rock.  Ohio's Simeon Soul Charger are Aaron Brooks (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Joe Kidd (drums, vocals, percussion), Rick Phillips (guitar, vocals, mandolin), and Spider Monkey (bass, banjo), and A Trick of Light is their third release, out now on Gentle Art of Music. For a bunch of American musicians, these guys sure know how to churn out British sounding psychedelia, pop, hard rock, and prog, almost like a mix of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, The Move, and a little bit of The Doors for good measure.

"We Come From The Mountains" is the first Norwegian album of Tiebreaker and this is one of the rock revelations of recent years. UFO - UFO 1 (1970)

Before exploding and becoming a monster of the genre in 1974 with the album "Phenomenon", UFO, which was formed in August 1969, has proposed two albums more unknown or even outright forgotten by a large part of the public. "UFO 1" was born in October 1970. At the level of the line-up, one finds already Phil Mogg with the song, Pete Way on the bass, Andy Parker on the drums, the three being accompanied by Mick Bolton on the guitar. Musically, we must forget everything we know about classical UFO to get a good grasp of the music presented here, a mixture of rock typed 60s, boogie-rock and psychedelic space rock. Also like a lot of formations at that time, UFO offers covers (three in total) to the program of this album that smells good flower power spirit of the 60s.

Avant d'éclater et de devenir un monstre du genre en 1974 avec l'album "Phenomenon", UFO, qui s'est formé en Aout 1969, a proposé deux albums plus méconnus voire même carrément oubliés par une grande partie du public.
