Song - Album (1970)

This little known quartet's minor claim to fame is that the lineup included Mickey Rooney, Jr., son of the well-known actor. Produced by Curt Boettcher and released in 1970, "Album" features a sound reminiscent of Badfinger. Shortcomings aside, one can only wonder how the band would have progressed had there been a followup album. Unfortunately, Song was over within a year of the album's release. 

La prétention mineure de ce quatuor peu connu, Song, est que Mickey Rooney, Jr., est bien le fils de l'acteur célèbre. Produit par Curt Boettcher et sorti en 1970, "Album" présente un son qui rappelle celui de Badfinger. Mis à part les lacunes, on ne peut que se demander comment le groupe aurait progressé s'il y avait eu un album supplémentaire. Malheureusement, Song a disparu dans l'année de la sortie de l'album.

Burning Tree - Burning Tree (1990)

Burning Tree was an American hard rock/blues rock power trio from Los Angeles, California. The band performed from the late 1980s to 1990. The band was started in 1987, by the guitarist Marc Ford and drummer Doni Gray, and were soon joined by bassist Mark "Muddy" Dutton to complete the three piece, but not before trying half a dozen bass players, including Jay Bentley from Bad Religion. Gray and Dutton had already been playing the local Los Angeles scene in a band called The March, and started an interest playing in a band called Citadel.

Ce premier album éponyme reflète l’esprit du glam rock naissant, teinté de hard rock et d'une certaine décadence très "seventies". Produit par Martin Birch, futur collaborateur d'Iron Maiden et Deep Purple, Silverheadincarne un rock brut et énergique. Bien que le groupe ne rencontre qu’un succès modeste, il laissera une trace durable dans l’histoire du glam rock par sa fougue scénique et son style exubérant.

Michael Des Barres avait beau chanter à gorge déployée, dévaliser les boutiques de mode et utiliser tous ses talents de comédiens pour faire chavirer les foules et les cœurs, Silverhead dû jeter l’éponge après seulement deux années d’existence, lâché par leur management et leur label (qui ne faisaient qu’un).

Restent deux albums studio attachants, “Silverhead” (1972, produit par Martin Birch), “16 And Savaged” (1973, avec Robbie Blunt à la guitare, futur accompagnateur de Robert Plant) et un live brut de chez brut enregistré au Rainbow de Londres en première partie de Nazareth, sorti deux ans après la dissolution du groupe, et exclusivement au Japon, où Des Barres et sa bande ont laissé un souvenir ému.

Silverhead emerged in 1972 from the vibrant UK glam scene, fronted by the flamboyant actor-singer Michael Des Barres. Their self-titled debut, produced by Martin Birch, blends gritty hard rock with sleazy glam energy. Though not a commercial hit, the album gained cult status for its raw sound and theatrical flair. Silverhead captured the reckless, hedonistic spirit of the early ‘70s, paving the way for later glam and punk rock acts.

Michael Des Barres could sing loudly, rob fashion stores and use all his talents as actors to capsize the crowds and hearts - his filmograhy is significantly more than his discography ... - Silverhead had to throw in the towel after only two years of existence, let loose by their management and their label (which were only one).

There are two endearing studio albums, "Silverhead" (1972, produced by Martin Birch), "16 And Savaged" (1973, with Robbie Blunt on guitar, future accompanist of Robert Plant) and a raw gross live recorded at Rainbow. London in first part of Nazareth, released two years after the dissolution of the group, and exclusively in Japan, where Des Barres and his band left a moving memory.
