John Hall - Action (1970)

A great early solo effort from John Hall – an artist with roots in the New York folk scene, and later fame as a member of Orleans – but very much his own person on this early 70s set! The group on the record features some harmonica from John Sebastian – and in a way, the album’s a bit like some of his own records after leaving Lovin Spoonful – material that’s maybe more personal and down to earth, but put together with a very strong sound overall.

Un excellent début solo de John Hall - un artiste ayant des racines dans la scène folk de New York, et qui connaîtra plus tard la gloire en tant que membre d'Orléans - dans un engagement très personnel sur cette production des années 70! Le groupe sur le disque comprend des parties d'harmonica de John Sebastian - et d'une certaine manière, l'album est un peu comme certains de ses propres disques après avoir quitté Lovin Spoonful - un matériau plus personnel et terre à terre, mais assemblé avec un son très fort globalement.

This album was released as a testpressing only and recorded in the US Midwest 1970. Nothing is known about this album, a mystery like Jungle. 10 great heavy tracks loaded with extra heavy fuzz-guitar, organ and souly male vocals. The guy sings like a male Janis Joplin, the music sounds like a tough version of Big Brother & Holding Comp. 

Cet album a été publié en tant que test presse seulement et enregistré dans le Midwest américain des années 1970. On ne sait rien de cet album qui comporte 10 grandes pistes lourdes chargées de fuzz-guitar, d'orgue et de voix masculine. Le gars chante comme un Janis Joplin masculin, la musique ressemble à une version dure de Big Brother & Holding Company.

Largely unknown group from Long Island, New York. After their debut that could be described as folk rock with a psychedelic edge, the 2nd record is definitively more rock/blues orientated.The lineup is Zhenya Stashuk on lead and rhythm guitar/vocals, Dede Puma vocals, Greg Buis on bass guitar and vocals, Les Singer on drums and Angus MacMaster on keyboards.

Groupe largement inconnu de Long Island, New York. Après leurs débuts que l'on pourrait qualifier de folk rock avec une touche psychédélique, le 2ème disque est définitivement plus orienté lues rock. The Dog That Bit People - The Dog That Bit People (1971)

Issued by Parlophone in 1971, it was the only album by the group that had evolved from the ashes of legendary band Locomotive by Bass player Mick Hincks and drummer Bob Lamb. Joined by keyboard player Keith Millar and guitarist John Caswell, the group recorded this album for EMI Records in 1970.

Publié par Parlophone en 1971, c'était le seul album du groupe qui avait été reconstitué des cendres du légendaire groupe Locomotive par le bassiste Mick Hicks et le batteur Bob Lamb. Rejoint par Keith Millar, claviériste, et John Caswell, guitariste, le groupe avait initialement  enregistré cet album pour EMI Records en 1970.
