The time of two albums - "Battle hymn" (1971) and "Turkey" (1972) - Wild Turkey finds the taste of the riff blues and a well rusty voice to Rod Stewart, but not that. Based on a bass with great expertise, the group, harmonically rich, offers classy psychedelic flights ("Gentle rain", "Sanctuary"), guitars in unison ("Butterfly"), some beautiful intros where the bass gives itself the beautiful role ("Sentinel"), and, surprise, some incursions acoustic folk of beautiful invoice, thanks to Pickford-Hopkins with the voice suddenly very soft, like this "Dulwich fox" that does not would not deny the Fairport Convention or Fotheringay of the big time.

S'appuyant sur une basse au grand savoir faire, le groupe, harmoniquement riche, s'offre des envolées psychédéliques classieuses ("Gentle rain", "Sanctuary"), des guitares à l'unisson ("Butterfly"), quelques belles intros où la basse se donne le beau rôle ("Sentinel"), et, surprise, quelques incursions folk acoustiques de belle facture, grâce à Pickford-Hopkins à la voix soudain très douce, à l'instar de ce "Dulwich fox" que ne renierait pas les Fairport Convention ou Fotheringay de la grande époque.
