Moses Dillard, né le 30 septembre 1946 à Greenville, en Caroline du Sud, a été un musicien et guitariste américain influent dans les années 1960 et 1970. Il a commencé sa carrière musicale en tant que tromboniste à l'église United House of Prayer For All People, puis a appris la guitare sous la direction de Bill Dover, instructeur de musique à Sterling High School. Dillard a ensuite rejoint le groupe du chanteur soul local Cornell Blakely avant de former son propre ensemble, les Dynamic Showmen.

En 1969, Dillard fonde le groupe Moses Dillard And The Tex-Town Display, qui comprend notamment un jeune Peabo Bryson. Cette formation mélange des influences soul, funk et jazz. Swampwater était un groupe américain de country rock formé en 1969 à Los Angeles. Initialement, le groupe a servi de groupe d’accompagnement pour Linda Ronstadt après sa séparation des Stone Poneys. Le groupe se composait de John Beland (guitare, chant), Gib Guilbeau (violon cajun, guitare, chant), Eric White (basse) et Stan Pratt (batterie). Plus tard, Eric White, le frère de Clarence White des Byrds, a été remplacé par Thad Maxwell à la basse.

En 1971, Swampwater publie son premier album éponyme sous le label Starday King Records. Enregistré en seulement quatre jours au Nouveau-Mexique, cet album marie habilement le country rock californien, les influences cajun et le swamp rock, un mélange propre à l’héritage musical de Gib Guilbeau. En 1974, ils sortent leur unique album, Watch For Fallenrock, sur le label Capricorn Records, un label connu pour ses signatures emblématiques du southern rock, comme The Allman Brothers Band ou Wet Willie.

L’album propose une dizaine de titres solidement construits, aux arrangements soignés et aux harmonies vocales riches. Parmi les morceaux notables figurent She’s A Mystery, Mary Anne, World On A String ou encore Your Lovin’. Le groupe y démontre une belle cohésion instrumentale et un sens certain de la mélodie, naviguant entre riffs énergiques et ballades émouvantes.

The album showcases a blend of Southern rock and melodic pop rock, with standout tracks including She's A Mystery, Mary Anne, World On A String, and Your Lovin'. Their music combines driving guitars, polished vocals, and thoughtful songwriting, reflecting the era's stylistic crosscurrents between FM radio rock and Southern influences.

Tom Snow, né en 1947 à Princeton, New Jersey, est un auteur-compositeur-interprète américain dont la carrière s’étend sur plusieurs décennies. Bien qu’il soit surtout reconnu pour ses succès en tant que songwriter dans les années 1980 et 1990 (avec des titres interprétés par Barbra Streisand, Ray Charles, Olivia Newton-John ou Selena), son parcours commence bien plus tôt, marqué par une solide formation musicale au Berklee College of Music à Boston, qu’il intègre en 1965.

Après avoir obtenu son diplôme en composition, il s’oriente vers la chanson pop et s’installe en Californie en 1969. Il fonde le groupe Country avec Michael Fondiler, Steve Fondiler, Bobby De Simone et Ian Espinoza, qui sort un unique album éponyme en 1971. L’année suivante, Tom Snow enregistre son premier album solo, Uptown Hopeful, produit par Peter Asher. Pour ce projet, il s’entoure de musiciens chevronnés : Kenny Craddock, Peter Kirtley, Colin Gibson, Ray Laidlaw (également ex-Lindisfarne) et Terry Popple.

Le groupe enregistre en 1977 un unique album, Isn't It Strange, publié sur le label The Rocket Record Company (fondé par Elton John). Il est surtout connu comme membre fondateur du groupe Utopia, dirigé par Todd Rundgren, avec lequel il a profondément marqué le rock progressif des années 1970.

En 1972, il publie son premier album solo, simplement intitulé Moogy, sous le label Capitol Records. L’album offre une fusion raffinée de rock et de pop, portée par son jeu expressif au piano et sa voix chaleureuse. Shaun Harris, né le 2 mars 1946 à Colorado Springs, est un musicien américain principalement reconnu pour son rôle de bassiste au sein du groupe de rock psychédélique The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band (WCPAEB). Fils aîné du compositeur symphonique Roy Harris, Shaun a grandi dans un environnement musical riche.
En 1962, la famille Harris déménage à Los Angeles. Là, Shaun et son frère cadet Danny rejoignent The Snowmen, un groupe produit par Kim Fowley. Plus tard, ils collaborent avec Michael Lloyd au sein des groupes The Rogues et The Laughing Wind. Shaun Harris, born March 2, 1946, in Colorado Springs, is an American musician best known for his role as bassist in the psychedelic rock band The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band (WCPAEB). The eldest son of symphonic composer Roy Harris, Shaun grew up in a rich musical environment.
In 1962, the Harris family moved to Los Angeles. There, Shaun and his younger brother Danny joined The Snowmen, a band produced by Kim Fowley. Later, they collaborated with Michael Lloyd in the bands The Rogues and The Laughing Wind. In 1965, with the addition of Bob Markley, the band evolved into The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, which released several albums under the Reprise Records label.
In 1973, after the dissolution of WCPAEB, Shaun Harris signed with Capitol Records and released his only self-titled solo album. This album marked a shift to folk rock, moving away from the psychedelia of his earlier works. The compositions, tinged with melancholy and introspection, reflect Harris's personal concerns at the time. The album includes notable tracks such as "Empty Without You," "Underachiever," and "Today's a Day."
Despite positive reviews, the album did not achieve commercial success, leading Harris to gradually withdraw from the music scene. He briefly collaborated with Barry Manilow before focusing on other projects, including organizing a children's film festival.
