Radiator est un groupe britannique de folk rock formé en 1975 par Alan Hull, membre fondateur du célèbre groupe Lindisfarne. L’objectif d’Hull était d’explorer de nouvelles directions musicales tout en conservant l’essence folk de ses débuts. Pour ce projet, il s’entoure de musiciens chevronnés : Kenny Craddock, Peter Kirtley, Colin Gibson, Ray Laidlaw (également ex-Lindisfarne) et Terry Popple.

Le groupe enregistre en 1977 un unique album, Isn't It Strange, publié sur le label The Rocket Record Company (fondé par Elton John). L'album mêle habilement rock classique et folk britannique, avec des titres aux mélodies puissantes et aux arrangements sophistiqués comme Spittin’ In The Wind, Corporation Rock ou encore I Wish You Well.

Malgré la richesse de l’album, Radiator ne parvient pas à s’imposer dans les classements. Le groupe se dissout rapidement après la sortie du disque. Alan Hull poursuivra une carrière solo féconde et retrouvera Lindisfarne peu de temps après.

Radiator was a British folk rock band formed in 1975 by Alan Hull, best known as a founding member of Lindisfarne. Seeking to expand his musical horizons, Hull gathered a group of seasoned musicians including Kenny Craddock, Peter Kirtley, Colin Gibson, Ray Laidlaw, and Terry Popple.

In 1977, the band released its only album, Isn't It Strange, under The Rocket Record Company label (founded by Elton John). The album delivers a compelling blend of folk rock and classic rock, marked by strong songwriting and tasteful instrumentation. Tracks like Spittin’ In The Wind, Corporation Rock, and I Wish You Well stand out for their lyrical and melodic quality.

Despite critical appreciation, the album didn’t achieve commercial success, and Radiator disbanded shortly afterward. Alan Hull and his bandmates went on to continue solo careers or return to earlier projects—Hull notably rejoining Lindisfarne.
