Ned était un groupe américain de southern rock qui a sorti un unique album éponyme en 1973 sous le label Polydor. Enregistré aux célèbres Capricorn Sound Studios – associés à de nombreux artistes majeurs du genre – l'album a bénéficié d'une production soignée assurée par Bill Stewart, également batteur pour la Capricorn Rhythm Section. Il a été assisté par Paul Hornsby et Johnny Sandlin, figures incontournables de cette scène.
Le disque comprend également des contributions de Paul Hornsby aux claviers et de Tommy Talton, membre du groupe Cowboy, à la guitare.
Le noyau principal du groupe était formé de Norman Reim (chant), Doug Mazique (basse, chant) et Jeff Parsons (guitare, chant). Richie Morales et Sammy Creason sont intervenus en tant que batteurs additionnels.
Malgré la qualité de leur musique, Ned n’a pas connu de succès commercial notable et s’est dissous peu après la sortie de cet unique album. Aujourd’hui, ce disque est devenu une rareté convoitée par les amateurs de southern rock et les collectionneurs.

Ned was an American southern rock band that released a single, self-titled album in 1973 under the Polydor label. Recorded at the renowned Capricorn Sound Studios—famous for their connection with southern rock legends—the album was produced by Bill Stewart, drummer for the Capricorn Rhythm Section, with assistance from Paul Hornsby and Johnny Sandlin.
The recording also featured contributions from Paul Hornsby on keyboards and Tommy Talton of the band Cowboy on guitar.
The core members of Ned were Norman Reim (vocals), Doug Mazique (bass, vocals), and Jeff Parsons (guitar, vocals). Drummers Richie Morales and Sammy Creason also played on the album.
Despite the musical quality, Ned did not achieve commercial success and disbanded shortly after the album’s release. Today, Ned is considered a rare gem among southern rock collectors.
