The Alan Ross Band était un groupe britannique formé par le guitariste et chanteur Alan Ross, actif principalement à la fin des années 1970. Alan Ross s'était auparavant illustré en collaborant avec John Entwistle, le bassiste des Who, sur ses albums solo Whistle Rhymes et Rigor Mortis Sets In, et en participant à ses tournées. Il avait également joué sur l'album Painted Head de Tim Hardin en 1973 et fondé le groupe Ro-Ro avec le bassiste Warwick Rose, produisant l'album Meet At The Water la même année.
En 1973, Alan Ross forme le groupe Ross, qui enregistre deux albums, Ross (1974) et The Pit and the Pendulum (1974), mêlant rock et funk. Malgré la qualité de leur musique, le groupe ne rencontre pas un succès commercial significatif et se sépare.

The Alan Ross Band was a British group formed by guitarist and singer Alan Ross, mainly active in the late 1970s. Alan Ross had previously worked with John Entwistle of The Who on his solo albums Whistle Rhymes and Rigor Mortis Sets In, and had toured with him. He also played on Tim Hardin's Painted Head album in 1973 and founded the band Ro-Ro with bassist Warwick Rose, producing the album Meet At The Water the same year.
In 1973, Alan Ross formed the band Ross, which recorded two albums, Ross (1974) and The Pit and the Pendulum(1974), blending rock and funk. Despite the quality of their music, the band did not achieve commercial success and disbanded.
In 1978, Alan Ross returned with The Alan Ross Band and released the album Restless Nights under Ebony Records. The album features a mix of melodic rock and funk, highlighted by Ross' distinctive guitar work and well-crafted compositions.
