Cr茅茅e initialement comme une courte cantate pour une 茅cole de Londres en 1968, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat est l’une des premi猫res collaborations d’Andrew Lloyd Webber et Tim Rice. Cette premi猫re version enregistr茅e en 1969 conserve une approche tr猫s d茅pouill茅e, m茅langeant pop orchestrale, ch艙urs scolaires et touches de rock l茅ger. Inspir茅e du r茅cit biblique de Joseph, fils pr茅f茅r茅 de Jacob, l’艙uvre raconte son parcours, de la trahison de ses fr猫res 脿 son ascension en 脡gypte. Ce disque reste un t茅moignage rare des d茅buts de deux futurs g茅ants de la com茅die musicale.

Originally conceived as a short cantata for a London school in 1968, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoatis one of the earliest collaborations between Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. The 1969 original recording retains a stripped-down feel, combining light rock, orchestral pop, and school choirs. Based on the biblical story of Joseph, Jacob’s favourite son, it narrates his journey from betrayal by his brothers to his rise in Egypt. This album is a rare document of the early days of two future musical theatre giants.
