Groupe obscur originaire des États-Unis, Striker publie en 1978 un unique album éponyme, devenu au fil du temps un culte underground pour les amateurs de hard rock vintage et de private press. À une époque où le heavy metal américain commence à prendre forme, Striker propose un cocktail efficace de hard rock boogie, de power riffing et de groove 70s, quelque part entre Montrose, Legs Diamond et les premiers Judas Priest.

Enregistré dans une production brute et sans fioritures, Striker séduit par son énergie live, ses solos tranchants et une section rythmique solide. Les compositions, directes mais bien ficelées, alternent entre morceaux hard puissants et mid-tempos bluesy à la Bad Company. Passé inaperçu à sa sortie, l’album est aujourd’hui prisé des collectionneurs de vinyles rares et des fans de heavy pré-NWOBHM.

A little-known American band, Striker released their sole self-titled LP in 1978—a hidden treasure for fans of private press hard rock and pre-metal power. While largely forgotten at the time, the album delivers gritty boogie-infused rockwith sharp guitar work and strong, no-frills production.

Blending the heaviness of early Montrose with the swagger of Legs Diamond and the melodic drive of Thin Lizzy, Strikerhits hard with pounding drums, searing solos, and vocals that walk the line between bluesy and gritty. A pure product of the '70s American underground, this LP has since earned cult status among hard rock archivists and crate diggers.
