Freedom’s Children was a groundbreaking progressive rock band from South Africa, formed during the late 1960s under the shadow of apartheid. Boldly experimental, the band fused space rock, psych, and heavy prog in a style reminiscent of early Pink Floyd or Hawkwind. Galactic Vibes (1972) stands as their most atmospheric and ambitious work — a deep dive into cosmic textures, swirling organ, and soaring guitars. Despite censorship and isolation, the band delivered a timeless statement of musical freedom and artistic rebellion. This album has since gained cult status among psych and prog rock collectors.
