Released in 1972, Manassas is the self-titled debut album by the band formed by Stephen Stills after his CSNY years. A sprawling double LP, it brilliantly blends American roots music: folk, country-rock, blues, bluegrass, Latin grooves, and psychedelic overtones. Each of the four vinyl sides is thematically structured, showcasing the band's incredible versatility and cohesion. Recorded in Miami with a team of seasoned musicians, Manassas is both a musical journey and a studio tour de force, often regarded as one of Stills’ finest works.
