Formé à Londres en 1967 par le guitariste Peter Green, le batteur Mick Fleetwood et le bassiste John McVie, Fleetwood Mac débute comme un groupe de blues britannique. Après plusieurs changements de membres, le groupe se réinvente en 1975 avec l’arrivée de Lindsey Buckingham et Stevie Nicks, apportant une nouvelle dimension pop-rock. Leur album Rumours, sorti en 1977, devient l’un des albums les plus vendus de tous les temps, avec plus de 40 millions d’exemplaires écoulés. 

Sorti en février 1977, Rumours est un chef-d'œuvre du rock californien, fruit des tensions internes du groupe, des ruptures amoureuses et des excès.
