American Flyer est un supergroupe folk-rock américain formé au milieu des années 1970, réunissant d’anciens membres de formations renommées : Craig Fuller (ex-Pure Prairie League), Eric Kaz (ex-Blues Magoos), Steve Katz (ex-Blood, Sweat & Tears) et Doug Yule (ex-Velvet Underground). Leur premier album éponyme, sorti en 1976 chez United Artists et produit par George Martin (le légendaire producteur des Beatles), est une œuvre raffinée qui mêle harmonie vocale, instrumentation acoustique et songwriting sensible.

Their self-titled debut album, released in 1976 on United Artists and produced by George Martin (of Beatles fame), is a refined work blending vocal harmonies, acoustic textures, and sensitive songwriting.

The album reflects the intersection of California rock, country-rock, and folk with polished arrangements and well-crafted songs. Despite critical praise and the stellar lineup, American Flyer had only moderate commercial impact and disbanded after releasing two albums.
