Hartford Baby Grande était un groupe de rock psychédélique originaire de Montréal, au Québec, actif au début des années 1970.
En 1971, Hartford Baby Grande publie deux premiers singles, "Victorious" et "Hey Mama", qui attirent l’attention des amateurs de rock psychédélique canadien. L’année suivante, en 1972, le groupe sort son unique album éponyme, "Hartford Baby Grande", sur le label Columbia Records.
Le titre "Victorious" atteint la 73ᵉ place du classement RPM Top 100 au Canada, ce qui témoigne d’un certain succès à l’échelle nationale. L’album présente un mélange de rock psychédélique, hard rock et blues rock, dans la veine des groupes nord-américains de l’époque, avec une touche proprement québécoise.
Malgré ce début prometteur et une musique énergique, le groupe se dissout peu après la sortie de l’album, laissant derrière lui une Å“uvre rare et recherchée, devenue culte parmi les collectionneurs de vinyles psychédéliques canadiens.

Hartford Baby Grande was a psychedelic rock band from Montreal, Quebec, active in the early 1970s.
In 1971, the band released two singles, "Victorious" and "Hey Mama", which gained moderate attention in the Canadian rock scene. Their only album, "Hartford Baby Grande", followed in 1972, released on Columbia Records.
The track "Victorious" peaked at #73 on the RPM Top 100 chart in Canada, marking their brief but notable presence in the national music landscape. The album blends psychedelic rock, hard rock, and blues influences, reflecting the stylistic currents of the early 70s while adding a distinctively Canadian flair.
Despite the promising start and a solid sound, Hartford Baby Grande disbanded shortly after the album’s release, leaving behind a rare gem that has become a collector’s favorite in the realm of Canadian psychedelic rock.
