Great Jones était un groupe britannique de rock psychédélique formé à Londres à la fin des années 1960. Leur unique album, All Bowed Down, paru en 1970 chez Pye Records, incarne parfaitement la transition entre la psychédélique tardive des années 60 et les prémices du rock progressif.

Influencé par le psychédélisme américain et l’avant-garde britannique, le groupe explorait des sonorités mêlant rock psyché, blues, folk et éléments progressifs. L’album témoigne d’un souci d’expérimentation musicale, avec des arrangements complexes, des harmonies vocales riches et une instrumentation variée.

Great Jones was a British psychedelic rock band formed in London in the late 1960s. Their sole album, All Bowed Down, was released in 1970 on Pye Records and stands as a vivid snapshot of the transition from late ’60s psychedelia to the early stirrings of progressive rock.

Influenced by both American psychedelia and the British experimental scene, the band fused elements of psych rock, blues, folk, and early prog. The album reflects a strong sense of musical experimentation, with complex arrangements, rich vocal harmonies, and diverse instrumentation.

The lineup featured Steve Piggott (vocals, guitar), Dave Bostock (guitar), Colin Foard (bass), Roger Dean (drums), and David Palmer (keyboards).
