Formé à Los Angeles en 1968, The Flying Burrito Brothers est un groupe pionnier du genre country rock, fusionnant les influences de la musique country traditionnelle avec le rock psychédélique des années 1960. Formed in Los Angeles in 1968, The Flying Burrito Brothers is a pioneering country rock band that blends traditional country music influences with 1960s psychedelic rock. The band was founded by Chris Hillman and Gram Parsons, former members of the Byrds, along with "Sneaky" Pete Kleinow on pedal steel guitar, Chris Ethridge on bass, and Michael Clarke on drums.
Their debut album, The Gilded Palace of Sin (1969), is considered a seminal work in the country rock genre. Despite positive critical reception, the album did not achieve significant commercial success upon its release. The band continued to evolve with lineup changes and released several albums throughout the 1970s, including Burrito Deluxe (1970) and The Flying Burrito Brothers (1971).
After Parsons' departure in 1972, the band continued under the name Burrito Brothers, with new members and a musical direction more focused on traditional country music.
