Formé à Cincinnati, Ohio, Jellyroll est un groupe américain de brass-rock fondé au début des années 1970. Issu de la scène soul-funk locale, le groupe est né de l'évolution de The Dapps, une formation qui avait collaboré avec James Brown. Leur unique album éponyme, Jellyroll, est sorti en 1971 sur le label Kapp Records. Produit par Richard Podolor, connu pour son travail avec Three Dog Night et Steppenwolf, l'album mêle habilement rock, jazz et soul, caractérisé par des cuivres puissants et la voix expressive de Roger Troy. Malgré des critiques positives, l'album n'a pas rencontré de succès commercial, ce qui a conduit à la dissolution du groupe peu après.

Formed in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jellyroll was an American brass-rock band established in the early 1970s. Evolving from the local soul-funk scene, the group originated from The Dapps, a band that had collaborated with James Brown. Their sole self-titled album, Jellyroll, was released in 1971 on Kapp Records. Produced by Richard Podolor, known for his work with Three Dog Night and Steppenwolf, the album skillfully blends rock, jazz, and soul, featuring powerful horns and the expressive vocals of Roger Troy. Despite positive reviews, the album did not achieve commercial success, leading to the band's dissolution shortly thereafter.
