Le George Hatcher Band est un groupe de rock sudiste américain formé en 1975 à Londres par le chanteur et compositeur George Hatcher, originaire de Bennettsville, Caroline du Sud. Après la dissolution de son précédent groupe, Flatrock, Hatcher s'installe au Royaume-Uni où il collabore brièvement avec des membres de Curved Air avant de constituer sa propre formation. Le groupe signe un contrat avec United Artists et enregistre son premier album, Dry Run, en 1976 aux studios Wessex de Londres, sous la direction du producteur Tom Allom. L'album, mêlant rock sudiste, boogie et hard rock, reçoit un accueil favorable et permet au groupe de se produire en première partie d'artistes tels que Dr. Feelgood, Canned Heat et Man. Malgré des débuts prometteurs, le groupe connaît plusieurs changements de personnel et poursuit sa carrière avec des albums ultérieurs comme Talkin' Turkey (1977) et Rich Girl (1978).

The George Hatcher Band is an American Southern rock group formed in 1975 in London by vocalist and songwriter George Hatcher, originally from Bennettsville, South Carolina. After the breakup of his previous band, Flatrock, Hatcher moved to the UK where he briefly collaborated with members of Curved Air before assembling his own band. The group signed with United Artists and recorded their debut album, Dry Run, in 1976 at Wessex Studios in London, produced by Tom Allom. The album, blending Southern rock, boogie, and hard rock, received positive reviews and led to support slots for acts like Dr. Feelgood, Canned Heat, and Man. Despite a promising start, the band underwent several lineup changes and continued their career with subsequent albums such as Talkin' Turkey (1977) and Rich Girl (1978).
