Wayne Henderson, né le 24 septembre 1939 à Houston (Texas) et décédé le 5 avril 2014 à Culver City (Californie), était un tromboniste, compositeur et producteur américain. Il est surtout connu comme cofondateur des Jazz Crusaders, groupe emblématique du soul jazz et du jazz fusion formé en 1961 avec Joe Sample, Wilton Felder et Stix Hooper .
Après avoir quitté les Crusaders en 1976, Henderson s'est lancé dans une carrière de producteur, collaborant avec des artistes tels que Ronnie Laws, Pleasure et Gábor Szabó . Il a également poursuivi une carrière solo, sortant plusieurs albums mêlant jazz, funk et soul. En 1995, il a reformé les Jazz Crusaders, renouant avec l'esprit du groupe original.

He is best known as a co-founder of the Jazz Crusaders, a seminal soul jazz and jazz fusion group formed in 1961 alongside Joe Sample, Wilton Felder, and Stix Hooper.
After departing the Crusaders in 1976, Henderson embarked on a successful production career, working with artists such as Ronnie Laws, Pleasure, and Gábor Szabó . He also pursued a solo career, releasing several albums that blended jazz, funk, and soul. In 1995, he reformed the Jazz Crusaders, reviving the group's original spirit.
