Formed in the early 1970s in Coventry, England, Whistler was a British progressive folk-rock band consisting of George Howe (vocals, keyboards, guitar), John Chuter (vocals, guitar, bass), and Ant Grout-Smith (guitar, bass, saxophone, vocals). Their sole album, Ho-Hum, was released in 1971 on Deram, a subsidiary of Decca Records. The album skillfully blends elements of folk, progressive rock, and jazz, featuring complex arrangements and sophisticated vocal harmonies.Although it received limited recognition at the time, Ho-Hum has become a cult album among collectors and fans of 1970s British progressive rock.
