Fanny était un groupe de rock américain pionnier, entièrement féminin, formé à la fin des années 1960. Après avoir signé avec Reprise Records, ils ont sorti plusieurs albums acclamés par la critique. Rock and Roll Survivors est leur cinquième et dernier album studio, publié en 1974 sur le label Casablanca Records. Cet album marque l'arrivée de la guitariste Patti Quatro (sœur aînée de Suzi Quatro) et de la batteuse Brie Howard, remplaçant les membres originaux June Millington et Alice de Buhr. Produit par Vini Poncia, l'album présente un son plus glam rock, influencé par les tendances de l'époque. Le single "Butter Boy", écrit par Jean Millington et inspiré de sa relation avec David Bowie, a atteint la 29e place du Billboard Hot 100 en 1975, devenant ainsi le plus grand succès commercial du groupe. Malgré ce succès, le groupe s'est dissous peu après la sortie de l'album.

Fanny was a pioneering all-female American rock band formed in the late 1960s. After signing with Reprise Records, they released several critically acclaimed albums. Rock and Roll Survivors is their fifth and final studio album, released in 1974 on Casablanca Records. This album marks the addition of guitarist Patti Quatro (older sister of Suzi Quatro) and drummer Brie Howard, replacing original members June Millington and Alice de Buhr. Produced by Vini Poncia, the album features a more glam rock sound, influenced by the trends of the time. The single "Butter Boy," written by Jean Millington and inspired by her relationship with David Bowie, reached No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1975, becoming the band's biggest commercial success. Despite this success, the band disbanded shortly after the album's release.
