Formed in Philadelphia in the late 1960s, The American Dream was a psychedelic and folk-rock band consisting of Don Lee Van Winkle, Nicky Indelicato, Nick Jameson (later of Foghat), Don Ferris, and Mickey Brook. Their sole self-titled album, released in 1970, is notable for being Todd Rundgren's first production. The band was known for energetic performances and vocal harmonies, but despite positive reviews, they didn't achieve significant commercial success and disbanded shortly after the album's release.
