Mamas Gun est un groupe britannique mené par le chanteur et auteur-compositeur Andy Platts, également membre du duo Young Gun Silver Fox. Formé en 2007, le groupe s'est d'abord fait connaître pour son mélange raffiné de soul, funk, pop et R&B vintage. Leur style évoque la soul des années 1970 dans la lignée de Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield ou Donny Hathaway, avec une modernité dans les arrangements et la production. Mamas Gun is a London-based soul-pop band fronted by singer-songwriter Andy Platts, also known for his work with Young Gun Silver Fox. With a style rooted in classic soul and funk from the '70s, they infuse modern sensibility and rich melodic writing. Their 2022 album Cure The Jones is a warm, analog-driven collection of songs reflecting personal and social anxieties during the pandemic era. Recorded live to tape, the album blends introspective lyrics with grooves reminiscent of Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Bill Withers, affirming Mamas Gun’s place in the modern soul revival.
