Sorti en 1973, Black Caesar est la bande originale du film blaxploitation du même nom, composée et interprétée par James Brown. À l’apogée de sa période funk, Brown y déploie un groove percutant, des lignes de basse énergiques, des cuivres affûtés et des ambiances cinématographiques tendues. C’est l’un des rares projets de BO entièrement conçus par lui, en collaboration avec son groupe The J.B.'s. L’album brille par des titres comme Down and Out in New York City ou The Boss, devenus emblématiques du genre.

Released in 1973, Black Caesar is the soundtrack to the blaxploitation film of the same name, composed and performed by James Brown. At the height of his funk period, Brown unleashes tight grooves, powerful basslines, sharp horns, and dramatic cinematic moods. This soundtrack is one of the few film scores fully crafted by Brown, in collaboration with his band The J.B.'s. Tracks like Down and Out in New York City and The Boss have become iconic within the genre.
