Felt est un groupe américain obscur originaire d'Alabama, actif à la toute fin des années 60. Leur unique album, simplement intitulé Felt, est sorti en 1971 sur le petit label Nasco. Porté par le guitariste et chanteur Mike Neel, ce disque est un ovni rare dans le paysage du rock psychédélique sudiste : mélange de guitares acides, de lignes de basse hypnotiques et d’un orgue omniprésent, il dégage une atmosphère à la fois brute et mystique. Très recherché par les collectionneurs, Felt n’a pas connu de succès à sa sortie mais est aujourd’hui considéré comme un joyau caché du rock psyché américain, avec une intensité quasi ésotérique dans son approche musicale.

Felt was a short-lived psychedelic rock band from Huntsville, Alabama, who released only one album in 1971 on the Nasco label. Led by guitarist and vocalist Mike Neel, the band created a raw, organ-drenched sound that blends southern rock energy with heavy, swirling psychedelia. Their self-titled album features fuzzed-out guitar lines, haunting vocals, and a dark, hypnotic mood. Though largely overlooked at the time, Felt has since gained a cult following for its intense, underground vibe and unique sonic identity. A hidden gem in the annals of American psych rock.
