Avec leur deuxième et dernier album studio, The Left Banke Too, le groupe new-yorkais The Left Banke poursuit son exploration unique d’un baroque pop raffiné, alliant harmonies vocales soyeuses, instruments classiques (clavecin, cordes) et compositions délicates. Mené par Steve Martin Caro (chant) et Michael Brown (claviers et compositeur principal), le groupe connaît cependant des tensions internes qui affectent la cohérence du projet. The Left Banke Too, the second and final studio album by New York’s The Left Banke, further develops the band’s signature baroque pop sound, featuring lush string arrangements, harpsichord, and sophisticated harmonies. While lineup changes and internal conflicts hampered the group’s cohesion, the album still offers gems like Desirée, Myrah, and Nice to See You. Led by Steve Martin Caro’s emotive vocals and Michael Brown’s songwriting genius, this record remains a beautiful, if uneven, swan song from one of the most underrated bands of the 1960s.
