The Yellow Payges est un groupe américain de Los Angeles, formé en 1966 autour du chanteur Dan Hortter. Le groupe est rapidement repéré pour ses performances énergiques et son look coloré, devenant un habitué du légendaire club Hullabaloo. Leur unique album, Volume 1, paraît en 1969 chez UNI Records. Il mélange garage rock, pop psychédélique et hard rock naissant. Malgré un style accrocheur et des titres efficaces, l’album passe relativement inaperçu, sans jamais vraiment percer les classements. Aujourd’hui, Volume 1 est considéré comme un joyau culte du psych-garage californien de la fin des sixties.

The Yellow Payges were a Los Angeles-based American rock band formed in 1966, fronted by vocalist Dan Hortter. Gaining visibility through high-energy performances and vibrant stage attire, they became a staple of the Hollywood scene, especially at the Hullabaloo club. Their sole LP, Volume 1 (1969, UNI Records), blends garage rock, pop-psychedelia, and early hard rock. Despite catchy songwriting and strong arrangements, the album failed to make a commercial impact. In retrospect, Volume 1 is now regarded as a hidden gem of late-60s West Coast psych-garage.
