Groupe obscur originaire de Chicago, Steeplechase livre avec Lady Bright un unique album autoproduit en 1970, resté longtemps introuvable avant d’être redécouvert par les amateurs de rock psychédélique et de garage progressif. Le disque mêle ballades acoustiques, passages psyché planants et éclats fuzz, sur fond de textes introspectifs. Hailing from Chicago, Steeplechase recorded their only album Lady Bright in 1970 as a private pressing, which remained a hidden gem for decades. Blending psychedelic folk, garage rock and progressive touches, the record features introspective lyrics and creative arrangements, sometimes reminiscent of Love, The Doors, or Ultimate Spinach. A raw and emotional ride through the twilight of the psychedelic era, this album showcases the ambition and poetic spirit of a short-lived yet inspired band.
