L’enregistrement s’étale jusqu’en 1973, mais l’album est mis en sommeil, non publié à l’époque.

Il faudra attendre 2001 pour que le label japonais Dreamsville Records exhumet enfin l’œuvre. "Beyond A Shadow Of Doubt" est un bijou de soft rock planant et de sunshine pop orchestrale, aux harmonies soignées et à l’atmosphère introspective. L’album n’a pas eu de succès commercial, mais il témoigne d’un tournant intime et expérimental dans la carrière de Gary Usher.
