Buckacre était un groupe de rock américain originaire de la vallée de l’Illinois River, actif durant le milieu des années 1970. Composé de Les Lockridge (guitare, chant), Dick Verucchi (batterie), Alan Thacker (guitare, violon, chant), Dick Hally (basse, chant) et Darrell Data (guitare, pedal steel, chant), le groupe a su combiner énergie rock et influences country avec authenticité.
En 1976, Buckacre sort son premier album Morning Comes sous le label MCA Records, produit par le célèbre Glyn Johns. L'album propose un mélange raffiné de rock et de country rock, dans la lignée de formations comme Poco, Fool's Gold ou encore The Eagles. L’accueil critique est positif, saluant les mélodies soignées, les harmonies vocales maîtrisées et la production claire.
Malgré ses qualités, le groupe ne parvient pas à percer à l’échelle nationale. En 1978, ils publient un second album éponyme, toujours chez MCA, avant de se séparer peu après. Certains membres poursuivent alors des carrières musicales individuelles ou rejoignent d’autres projets régionaux.

Buckacre was an American rock band from the Illinois River Valley, active in the mid-1970s. The group featured Les Lockridge (guitar, vocals), Dick Verucchi (drums), Alan Thacker (guitar, violin, vocals), Dick Hally (bass, vocals), and Darrell Data (guitar, pedal steel, vocals).
In 1976, they released their debut album Morning Comes on MCA Records, produced by legendary Glyn Johns. The record blends rock and country rock influences, drawing comparisons to bands like Poco, Fool’s Gold, and The Eagles. Critics praised its melodic songwriting, tight arrangements, and clean production.
Despite the positive response, Buckacre did not achieve widespread national recognition. Their second, self-titled album followed in 1978, also on MCA, but the group disbanded soon afterward. The members later pursued various musical endeavors individually.
