Originaire de l’Iowa, le groupe Tongue était un quintette énergique à la croisée du rock psychédélique, du blues et du boogie. Publié en 1969 sur le petit label PAC, Keep On Truckin’ with Tongue est leur seul album studio, véritable reflet de la scène locale underground du Midwest américain. Enregistré avec des moyens modestes, le disque séduit par son honnêteté brute : guitares tranchantes, orgue Hammond omniprésent, rythmique dynamique et une touche soul dans la voix du chanteur. On pense à des groupes comme Rare Earth ou Frijid Pink. Très recherché des collectionneurs, cet album rare symbolise un rock roots, sincère, aux accents psyché et garage marqués.

Hailing from Iowa, Tongue was a high-energy five-piece band fusing psychedelic rock, blues, and boogie. Released in 1969 on the tiny PAC label, Keep On Truckin’ with Tongue remains their only studio album and a true gem of Midwestern underground rock. Raw and unpretentious, the record features sharp guitar work, prominent Hammond organ, driving rhythms, and a soul-tinged vocal delivery. Reminiscent of Rare Earth or early Frijid Pink, this rare LP has gained a cult following for its gritty, rootsy rock vibe laced with psych and garage elements.
