The Tea Company est un groupe psychédélique américain formé à New York dans les années 1960, issu de la scène underground de Greenwich Village. Leur unique album, Come and Have Some Tea with the Tea Company, sorti en 1968 chez Smash Records, est une plongée hallucinée dans l’ère du LSD. Avec ses effets studio expérimentaux, ses guitares fuzz en spirale et ses collages sonores, l’album évoque clairement les influences du 13th Floor Elevators, des Beatles période Revolver/Sgt. Pepper et du Velvet Underground. Le titre « Flowers » est une véritable épopée psyché où se mêlent feedback, spoken word et distorsions hypnotiques. Un album culte, chaotique et inventif, symbole du psychédélisme américain dans sa forme la plus libre et sauvage.

The Tea Company was a psychedelic band from New York, active during the late 1960s. Their only album, Come and Have Some Tea with the Tea Company (1968), released on Smash Records, is a psychedelic time capsule drenched in reverb, fuzz, and sonic experimentation. Blending fuzzy garage rock with tape loops, backwards effects, and heavily processed vocals, the record channels early Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and 13th Floor Elevators, with a raw and chaotic edge. The standout track “Flowers” is an extended acid trip filled with surreal effects and improvisation. The album has since become a sought-after relic of the acid rock era.
