Formé à Nashville au début des années 70, Jubal est un groupe éphémère issu de la scène country rock américaine. Leur unique album, simplement intitulé Jubal et publié en 1972 chez Elektra, est un bel exemple de soft rock pastoral, oscillant entre harmonies vocales à la CSN&Y, instrumentation soignée et touches gospel et soul. Malgré un accueil discret à sa sortie, l’album séduit aujourd’hui les amateurs de rock sudiste feutré et d’ambiances West Coast spirituelles. Jubal s’inscrit dans la mouvance des groupes comme Cowboy, Goose Creek Symphony ou Mason Proffit, entre country, folk et spiritualité.

Emerging from the Nashville scene in the early 1970s, Jubal was a short-lived band that released a single self-titled album in 1972 on Elektra Records. A mellow blend of country rock, folk, and soulful harmonies, Jubal offers reflective, West Coast-inspired sounds with hints of gospel and Americana. Their music resonates with fans of acts like America, Cowboy, or Mason Proffit, capturing a gentle, spiritual side of early ’70s rock. Although the band didn’t last long, the album has since become a sought-after gem among collectors of laid-back, harmony-rich country rock.
