Formé à Belfast en 1967 sous le nom de The People, le groupe devient Eire Apparent après leur déménagement à Londres en 1968. Ils signent avec le label Track Records, dirigé par Chas Chandler et Mike Jeffery, qui gèrent également Jimi Hendrix. Ce dernier produit leur unique album, Sunrise, enregistré à Los Angeles en octobre 1968. L'album, publié en mai 1969, mêle rock psychédélique, pop et influences celtique, avec des touches de progressif. Hendrix participe également à certaines pistes, notamment "Yes I Need Someone" et "The Clown". Le groupe se sépare en 1970, mais Sunrise reste un témoignage précieux de l'époque.

Formed in Belfast in 1967 as The People, the band became Eire Apparent after relocating to London in 1968. They signed with Track Records, managed by Chas Chandler and Mike Jeffery, who also managed Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix produced their sole album, Sunrise, recorded in Los Angeles in October 1968. Released in May 1969, the album blends psychedelic rock, pop, and Celtic influences, with touches of progressive elements. Hendrix also contributed to tracks like "Yes I Need Someone" and "The Clown". The band disbanded in 1970, but Sunrise remains a valuable artifact of the era.
