Originaire de l’Oregon, Neighb'rhood Childr'n est un groupe psychédélique qui s’inscrit pleinement dans la mouvance West Coast de la fin des sixties. Initialement connu sous le nom de The Navarros, le groupe change de nom et enregistre ce premier et unique album en 1968 pour le label Acta Records. On y retrouve tous les ingrédients du psyché californien : guitares mordantes, claviers vibrants, effets studio, et surtout la voix impressionnante de Dyan Hoffman, qui imprime à l’ensemble une forte personnalité. Malgré son manque de succès à l’époque, l’album est aujourd’hui considéré comme une pièce maîtresse du psychédélisme féminin de la côte Ouest.

Hailing from Oregon, Neighb'rhood Childr'n was a psychedelic band firmly rooted in the late-60s West Coast sound. Originally known as The Navarros, they renamed themselves and released this self-titled debut in 1968 on Acta Records. Their music blends fuzzy guitars, swirling organ, studio effects, and above all, the powerful vocals of Dyan Hoffman, giving the record a distinctive character. Though it failed to gain commercial traction, the album is now seen as a cornerstone of female-fronted West Coast psych.
